Organization Overview
Sweden Ghana Bridge is a non-profit organization with the purpose of creating sustainable opportunities for both individuals and communities through international exchange. Through work training, internships and mentorship, we offer a platform where people in Sweden and Ghana can develop within their professions while contributing to increased knowledge and competence in various sectors.
Our activities are particularly focused on the areas of healthcare and care as well as construction and infrastructure, where we create opportunities for individuals to gain practical experience and professional knowledge according to European standards. In Sweden, we give people with mental or physical health issues a chance for work training and re-entry into working life, while in Ghana we contribute to raising the quality of education and vocational training.
We collaborate with private companies, municipal and state institutions to enable long-term and sustainable efforts. By combining Swedish expertise with Ghanaian resources, we build a strong foundation for future development.
Our vision is to create meaningful and concrete change by developing quality and knowledge in Ghana, while strengthening the workforce in Sweden. We see this as a win-win situation where cultural exchange and skills development go hand in hand for a better and more inclusive labor market.

Bylaws
Name and Location
The organization's name is Sweden Ghana Bridge and is located in Gothenburg municipality.
Purpose
- •Promote trade and cooperation between Ghana and Sweden.
- •Provide work training for Ghanaian people in practical professional categories to apply that knowledge in Ghana.
- •Give Ghanaian women the opportunity to work train in healthcare and care to bring the experience to Ghana.
- •Offer work training for Swedes with mental or physical health issues to train Ghanaians.
- •Create a platform for collaboration between actors in both countries in agreement with Chamber of Commerce, Ghana, Sweden.
Membership
- •The association charges 200 SEK in membership fee per year.
- •Membership is granted by the board.
- •Members are expected to respect the association's values.
- •A member who seriously damages the association's activities can be excluded after a decision by the board.
Board
The association is led by a board with 5 people and its founder. The board is elected annually at the annual meeting. The board decides on the association's affairs and represents the association externally. Decisions are made by at least four of the board members agreeing.
Voting and Decision-Making
- •Decisions are made by simple majority.
- •In case of a tie, the founder has the deciding vote.
- •The board shall meet physically or digitally at least once per year.
Annual Meeting
- •Held once per year when everyone can gather.
- •Notice is sent via WhatsApp group.
- •At the annual meeting, the annual report, financial report, election of board and auditor are handled.
- •Extra association meetings can be held as needed.
Economy
- •The association is financed through contributions from foundations, municipalities and regions as well as private individuals and companies.
- •Board members receive no salary.
- •Financial agreements between board members shall be clear and documented.
Bylaw Changes
Bylaws can be changed through a decision by the board and founder at the annual meeting.
Dissolution of the Association
Upon dissolution, the founder or a designated administrator decides on the distribution of any remaining assets.
